[2/2] On/Off Experiment - Part 1.

For my On/Off experiment assignment, I decided to unplug myself from the internet. Since I have classes every day except on Friday, I figured that day would be the most ideal and suitable day to do the following assignment. The first thing I do when I am awake is to check the weather and social media on my phone. While I do that, I always finding myself trapped by SNS and end up spending too much unnecessary time browsing. Since I planned to prohibit myself from checking or doing things I usually do with the internet, I had to prepare myself a little bit the day before I decided to do my experiment. I downloaded my articles/journals for class readings, checked the weather and other things that require the access to the the the the the internet in advance.

Finally, my experiment began as soon as I woke up on that planned morning. Because I didn’t have access to any devices with the internet, I was able to get up right away from the bed which doesn't happen to me very often. With no access to the internet that grabs my attention yet, my mind automatically put myself into the zoned out mode and got forced to stay in peace. Though I ended up reading my course materials a little bit faster pace than usual, the time seemed to pass slower. To avoid the temptation to go online, I had to keep physically forcing myself not to be around devices with access.  I thought I was doing a pretty good job until I found myself looking up a direction on google map as I was leaving my place. Living without internet only lasted me about 3 hours.
